Turda’s Salt Mine
Salina Turda is the most spectacular underground shaped by people in the world. Turda Salt Mine is one of the most spectacular tourist attractions in the world. It is the underground that people created in a special natural environment, deep in Transylvania, digging in the salt deposited after the evaporation of the sea that covered the entire region millions of years ago. Now, the salt from Turda Salt Mine could provide the salt needed for the entire planet for 60 years, if necessary.
Alba Iulia
Alba Iulia is a city that serves as the seat of Alba County in the west-central part of Romania. Located on the river Mureș in the historical region of Transylvania. Since the High Middle Ages, the city has been the seat of Transylvania’s Roman Catholic diocese. The Alba Iulia bastion fortification is the largest fortress in Romania, standing for more than 300 years. The fortress is the place where you can return in time, over two millennia, among the vestiges of three fortifications, from as many different epochs. In other words, every fortress built here has embedded the old one: The castle built by the Romans, the medieval citadel and the Alba Carolina Citadel.

With its rugged peaks, lush forests, and pristine rivers, the Apuseni Mountains offer a playground for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. Explore winding hiking trails that lead to breathtaking vistas, discover hidden caves and underground rivers, and encounter a rich diversity of flora and fauna along the way. Whether you’re seeking adventure or simply yearning for tranquility amidst nature, the Apuseni Mountains beckon with their timeless beauty and unspoiled landscapes.
Pisoaia Waterfall and Snail Hill
It is a splendid waterfall over 18 meters high located across the street from the Snail Hill. It is a landscape reserve, located on a rocky limestone threshold. Behind it is a forest of coniferous-leafy mixture. The waters of the area are rich in limestone and give rise to splendid limestone formations, of paleozoic age, which increase the spectacularity of the place. Also next to the waterfall there are three giant boulders – sculpted by the weather – that enhance the beauty of the place and give the landscape a special picturesque look.
Scarisoara Glaciar Cave
Discover the icy wonders of Scarisoara Glacier, a natural marvel hidden deep within the Apuseni Mountains of Romania. Located within the Scarisoara Cave, this ancient ice formation dates back thousands of years, offering a glimpse into the Earth’s frozen past. Step into the cool, dimly lit cavern and marvel at the massive ice stalagmite towering above, as well as the crystal-clear underground lake that reflects its icy beauty. With its unique blend of geology and natural history, Scarisoara Glacier promises a fascinating adventure for those who dare to explore its frozen depths.
Belis Lake
The Beliș-Fântânele Lake is an accumulation lake and was built between 1970 and 1974 for hydroelectric purposes on the Someșul Cald River. Due to its intramontane location, at the confluence of the Gilăului Mountains (east), the Vlădeasa Mountains (west) and the Mare Mountain (south), at an altitude of 1050 m, the Beliș-Fântânele Lake is today considered one of the most popular tourist destinations in the surroundings of Cluj.
