Romania is home to many UNESCO heritage sites which include natural landmarks and man-made wonders. With approximately 1,300 castles and 18,000 churches, Romania’s cultural heritage is a symbol of the country’s tumultuous past.
Our 4 Days Trip Program will take you to some of the most important UNESCO sites which include 4 Churches/Monasteries and 4 castles/citadels, aiming to give you a taste of Romania’s magical history.
Day 1:
- Departure from Cluj-Napoca – around 7 A.M.
- Budesti – Wooden Church, built in 1643 – UNESCO heritage
- Breb – traditional village
- Barsana Monastery – Wooden Church, built in 1390 – UNESCO heritage
- Merry Cemetery in Sapanta – founded in 1935 – UNESCO heritage
- Accommodation and dinner- traditional guesthouse in Poienile Izei
Day 2:
- Departure to Bucovina
- Rodnei Mountains
- Voronet Monastery – built in 1448 by order of the voievode Stefan the Great – UNESCO heritage
- Humorului Monastery – built in 1530 by order of the voievode Petru Rareș – UNESCO heritage
- Neamț Citadel – built at the end of the 14th century by Petru the Ist and fortified by Stefan the Great years after that
- Ion Creanga (writer) Museum of Humulesti
- Accommodation and dinner will be at a guesthouse in the area
Day 3:
- Bran Castle – UNESCO heritage
- Stops on the road at Bicaz Lake, Vanatori National Park
- Peles Castle
- Accomadation in Brasov
Day 4:
- Sighisoara – UNESCO heritage
- Stop on the road at Viscri Village – dating back to the 12th century
- Traditional Winery, located in Tarnavelor area
- Arrival back in Cluj
